Tuning the Winter Mood: Lost Cherry Under the Stars

jul 8, 2026 0 comments

The bite of winter is slightly softer today than yesterday.

Yet, this week in Asunción feels like a striking contrast between a brilliantly bright sky and crisp, chilling air.

Opening the window, I wanted to fully savor this rare, icy breeze—a scent that visits only a handful of times a year.

So, I reached for Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry.

Sweet but never sticky, its opening evokes the dark prelude of a gothic fairy tale.

Scent is entirely a matter of personal interpretation, but I find myself frequently layering this heavy, 'crimson' fragrance on dry, crisp days.
It is opulent and sweet, yet completely free of that suffocating, humid weight.

Its frequent companion is Maison Margiela’s Under the Stars.

With its unapologetic leather and oud notes, it instantly carves out a heavy, tangible texture in the air.

Truth be told, I rarely wear this combination out.

In my imagination, this misty sillage belongs to someone carrying a deep, untold story.
It feels a bit too dramatic for the mundane outdoors; it is more of a private ritual, a way of tuning my mood at home.

Once I step past the front door, however, my daily companion remains Chanel’s Paris-Édimbourg.
